Your Instagram Bio: What You Need

Your Instagram Bio is one of the first MAJOR areas that people look at when they click on your profile. Do you know how to make yourself stand out in a sea of profiles?

Key Parts of Every Bio:

The Name Fields

Each Instagram profile has space for your bio. This is where people figure out who you are and whether they want to follow you. The parts of your bio are:

  • Your Name
  • Your Username
  • The Pronouns You Want to Use
  • Your Website Link
  • Your Bio
  • Any Contact and Location Options

What Parts Should You Focus On?

Now, when it comes to your bio you need to make sure that your username, which is your @ name, is something you should have across all other platforms.

This is something that you will probably put on business cards and anything else so that people can find you. For mine it is @samanthadryer.

You also need to make sure that your Name field is also something that can identify you. Most people will put their first name | what they do

*** These two fields (the username and the name field) are the only things that are searchable when it comes to Instagram. You will want to make sure that you have keywords in there or that whatever your ideal client might be searching for is written out in these fields in your bio. This will help people find you a lot easier!

Your Bio

This helps to tell people exactly who you are, what you do, and who you help or serve. I always like to have a statement that tells exactly who I help.

Then, if I have space available I let people know a little bit more about me.

Finally, make sure they know what to do and where to click to get to your website, latest blog post, or sign up with you.

Your Public Business Information

In this section, you want to make sure that you have your email and your address put in. This way people can find you and be able to contact you easily. Just in case they don’t want to DM you.

I always suggest to my clients to make sure you put a location. This will help especially if you are in a physical location or someone that serves a certain area. You will pull up in searches for that area if you put it in your profile. It is also a great way to connect with people that might live in or around your area!
